Welcome to ASITA 2017.
The Environmental Isotope Laboratory (EIL) is pleased to invite you to attend the 2017 Advances in Stable Isotope Techniques and Applications Workshop (ASITA) that will take place on June 24-27, 2017 at Federation Hall, University of Waterloo. Please ‘save the date,’ pass the word and plan to join us for the 23rd of this uniquely focused meeting.
ASITA was formed in 1994 by Nik Binder of ISOMASS, then called the Canadian Continuous Flow Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (CF-IRMS) Workshop. Its original purpose remains unchanged providing an opportunity for ‘hands-on’ CF-IRMS users to come together with manufacturers, suppliers and service providers as well as other managers, technicians, grad students and researchers; it is a forum where new advances, methodology and equipment can be presented and possible direction or future research applications in CF-IRMS discussed.
ASITA remains a small conference with about 100 attendee’s and has a relaxed and informal atmosphere. This workshop has a closely shared purpose and community with ISOGEOCHEM and is proven to be a valuable tool for many in providing advice and assistance.
We welcome presentations in any area of stable isotope research and from all disciplines. We are also soliciting for topics for the break-out discussion groups. There will be no formal proceedings, but we require an Abstract for the program and webpage.
Program scheduling and details will be posted to the website in the coming months as they become available.
ASITA 2017 will mark 20 years since EIL Waterloo last hosted this event; long, long overdue but we hope you will join us this time round.
Stay tuned – more to follow.
We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Ramon Aravena, will be presenting the Keynote address for ASITA 2017.
Dr. Aravena has more than 25 years experience in the application of isotope and geochemical techniques in hydrogeology.
